Hi. I am a complete noob when it comes to as3 and was looking for some help on building my portfolio site. Since I have the Flash cs3 program on my computer I figured what the heck! why not try and learn some web stuff. Long story short, I have most of my site up and ready to go. Server, hosting package, domain name, etc. However, I have wanted to set my portfolio page similar to the attached image.. meaning just in a large scrollbox with ease on the images side and an ease on the actual scroller itself too.
I have found and stumbled across quite a few tutorials and free scrollers to use which are customizable and nice but I am having a hard time figuring out how to properly get it on my own flash page and whatnot.
For example.. I downloaded the appropriate file to use and inside the download comes the .fla and .swf files, a few js files, html file, a folder titled "courier" with all sorts of stuff in it like tween, etc. The only file that I am able to import to my fla library is the swf file and then putting that on stage but when I test movie the scroller doesnt work
A lot of the as3 scrollers for use are talking about having content or images loaded externally.

I guess my long question here is, How do I get fla files inside my own fla library/stage or which files exactly do I put in my fla project and which do I upload to my server if any??? Or how do I manage content and images that are loaded externally??

Is there a write up on how to and where to start for this or could someone explain in a newbie language for me??

Much appreciated and sorry for the long post
