I was looking into getting an iPad soon for quite a few reasons but wanted to know if I would be able to plug in my flash drive(I know there isn't a usb but is there an adapter?) that contains an htm file for studying. Would there be an issues with playing the htm file/site? It just takes me to a page that contains a bunch of videos. Thanks for your input

you can't, but you could sign up for a free dropbox account, put the file in that and access it that way - from any device.

the only problem with that is the file is protect so if I can't copy it off the flash drive(at least I don't know how to)

How is the file protected? Do you mean it is being protected with some form of DRM?

Honestly I am not quite sure how, it's a home study program so they obviously don't want people duplicating it. I would just like to have it on my computer so I don't worry about losing a flash drive though.
