Flash Drive Issues (already searched forum)

I'm on OSX 10.5.4 MBP

Drive: MS-DOS FAT

My problem here is that on my PC the drive has what it should, 3GB of space available. When I connect it to my Mac the drive only has 972 MB of free space. There is nothing on the Flash Drive I'm extremely perplexed here! has anyone faced the same problem?

Does something appear in the trash when you connect the drive? If so, delete it.

With the flash drive plugged in try emptying your trash - it sounds like it's been deleted be emptied.

And if that doesn't work then copy the stuff on your flash drive to your computer and use Disk Utility to reformat it.

There is nothing on my flash drive ad the trash is empty
