Flash drive not showing up

Just bought a new macbook air, and I'm trying to transfer over my pictures that were on my PC (I no longer have the PC) and are now on a flash drive.

The drive in question is formatted in FAT32 (4GB). I also tried two other drives, one a FAT16 (2GB) and another a FAT32 (8GB), both of which worked.

When I plug in the flash drive, it doesn't show up in Finder, like the other 2 do, but it does show up in Disk Utility. Do I need to reformat the drive or something? I tried it on a windows computer and it worked fine.

What and lose his pictures?

Plug the drive in another Windows PC, copy the files off, Format the drive in NTFS, copy the files back on, Then transfer the files onto your laptop.

No, obviously you would back up the files before reformatting.
