I have a 2gig SONY USB Flash Drive and i was wondering if there was anything really cool i could do with it besides just storing things? Not that that isn't enough, just curious, i wanna use it to its full extent. :D thx

Well, I heard that Vista uses unused flash drive space for RAM.

I'm not sure if this is the case, but it sounds cool.

Yes i have heard this as well, and a friend has stated it fact. He also said that it wasnt nearly as fast as real RAM, however, Vista can use all the extra RAM it can get. Thats what got me to thinking. :)

Portable Apps are pretty cool...they're self-contained versions of applications that you can install on USB keys. The best one is Portable Firefox; it keeps a full version of Firefox on your key, so you can have your own browser with all your own bookmarks and settings. There's also Portable VLC if you're using a computer with no media player software. They're pretty useful.

Don't you need the weird U3 smart flash sticks to run portable apps?

I always keep the FULL version of FF on my flash drive.(I can't stand using IE at school, so I pop in the flash drive and load it from there)

So is there a difference between the full version and the portable version?
