Flash player - aargghh!!

Hi,
Sometimes I can watch a youtube video, sometimes I can't.
Sometimes I can watch a video outside of youtube, sometimes not...

On the occasions when I can't, I'm getting fed up of the window saying I need to download the latest version of flash, or else the flash player is required to watch this video.

I've uninstalled and re-installed flash (specific to my Mac) several times and it still keeps happening!

In Safari preferences I've allowed Java and enabled java script

Am I missing the obvious?
