I am VERY new to flash...i have a .mov file that i would like to use on my homepage, but it is 50 something mb...how can i turn this into a flash animation and have it play out with only a small load time but still fairly good picture/sound quality?

Thanks,
Christien.

okay well, how would you go about incorporating a movie file into a flash design element [i.e. a menue]? There is a page where I got my idea from and it.s link is http://www.allisonsbackstage.com/ I was wondering how to do this? Do i in FCP export a bunch of still images and then just 'animate' them in Flash?

Thanks,
Christien.

I guess thats how I would do it, I dont know if this has something to do with flash 7 Pro and its pro level video engine. but id say start simpler than that, its a pretty complex movie for someone new at flash to try and replicate.

If you are using flash MX, you can import .mov file directly into Flash. If you are using Final Cut, you should be able to recompress the movie to a smaller size (try mpeg4). Flash will also compress the movie. You may need to install the Video Import Wizard which comes with Flash or you can download it from Macromedia.

Good Luck
