Although not brand-new, Woot is a well-known third-party reseller that promises its refurbished products have been thoroughly inspected and come in good working condition. The retailer's "refurbished" status also covers all returns, making it easier to get your money back if necessary. Head to Woot to check out the refurbished HomePod and if you're interested, make your purchase before the sale ends later tonight.

Woot via Amazon has another flash sale today on refurbished products, offering up to 30 percent off of Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro models from 2017. This sale includes a notable low price for Apple's latest 12-inch MacBook, discounted to $999.99 in refurbished condition, the lowest price for the model available online from major retailers.

The refurbished device is shipped and sold by Woot on Amazon, so you'll be getting the same refurbished warranty as Woot offers on its website, including a promise that it works and looks like new and a 90-day return warranty.

Does anyone else have hesitations about a refurbished Homepod not refurbished by Apple?

Buy with an American Express card and that will extend the warranty on it. I’m not sure by how much though. They’ll match a “manufacturers warranty” up to an additional 2 years. The question is which warranty are we going by here? The 90 day warranty from Woot which would extend the warranty to 180 days? Or Apple’s warranty for refurbished products which is 1 year? There isn’t any requirement that you purchase from the manufacturer directly to get the warranty so I suspect you could get away with going by Apple’s refurbished warranty. If it breaks outside of the warranty you just submit a claim to Amex and they send you a check for the purchase amount.

Amex does not cover refurbished product. According to T&C.

Hmmmmmm....I do need one more HomePod.

I'm in the same boat. I would definitely get another Homepod given the right situation.

This isn’t that great of a price anyway. Around Christmas and New Years a few retailers were selling HomePods brand new for $249.

That sale was the right situation. I picked up one from Target at that price and have been very happy with the purchase! I am sure more deals on new Homepods will be coming.

I bought one of those MacBooks from woot, the battery was DOA. And they don’t have a warranty from Apple, just the 90 days from Woot.

Can you add apple care to the refurb homepod from woot?

No.

I love Apple-refurbished products... with the keyword there being "Apple".

When you buy a refurbished product from Apple, you get the same warranty. You even have the option to purchase AppleCare - it's basically just like buying a new product in terms of how the company stands behind their offerings.

Refurbished somewhere else? Not unless they give me at least a year warranty. 90 days isn't gonna cut it.

Everyone going off on refurbished and all I can think is, “$115 off the HomePod is STILL $235?!” My lord that thing is expensive, no wonder it’s only got 4% market share.
I agree. I was thinking, $235? You’re still over $50 out of the market price Apple. Sell it at $179 and I’ll order one.
