Flashing Calendar Dots

Can anyone please tell me why the calendar dots on my iPhone 6 have started blinking?
 
i think it does this when the calendar is syncing with icloud after you add/edit something.
 
Thank you - it was a syncing problem - turning calendar off and then back on fixed it.
