I installed the security update a couple days ago and upon restart, a flashing globe icon appeared on my screen for several minutes before a flashing question mark came on. The fans in my G5 started to get really loud and after about 4-5 minutes, OSX finally starts up. If I restart, it does the same thing...anyone have any idea what's going? Thanks!

Flashing globe icon upon startup? Ever since installing security update...NEED HELP!

Sounds like your computer is trying to start from the network. You will need to go to system preferences and choose "Startup disk". In this window make sure your internal hard drive is set as the startup drive.
