Flashing screen in startup

So today when I booted up my macbook pro I noticed the screen flashed from black to white around 6 times quite quickly. It did it on the screen with the apple logo before the desktop loads fully.

Restarted my mac 4 or 5 times and it does it every time. Everything else (touch wood) seems to be working ok at the moment. Anyone know it is a sign of something more sinister?

Ignore me, I reset PRAM and that fixed it.
