I'm a wheelchair user and I just got an iPhone 6+. From a mounting perspective I have a very unusual problem to solve. My previous iPhone, an iPhone 4S, was simply Velcrod to my right arm rest in portrait orientation. There was a piece of Velcro stuck on my armrest and another one stuck on the back of the case that my iPhone 4S was in. This worked reasonably well for a long time but it has some limitations. The iPhone 4S could not be rotated between portrait and landscape orientations without pulling it off and repositioning it, which wasn't easy with industrial strength Velcro. It also made it very impractical for anybody to remove the phone at all for any purpose, like borrowing it to take a picture or something. I can't physically hold a phone myself so it basically just stayed stuck there, in portrait orientation, for its entire life except for a few emergencies or somebody had to remove it for some reason. I can, however, push or nudge something so if the phone was able to be turned in place I could probably do it myself.
Now that I have an iPhone 6+ I would much prefer to not have the same limitations. First and foremost I would like to be able to rotate the iPhone between portrait and landscape orientations independently. The iPhone also has to be as flush to the surface of the armrest as possible because if it protrudes too much vertically it starts to get in the way of me driving my wheelchair. Something like this initially looked like the perfect solution:

However there's one big problem to change the orientation of the phone (between portrait and landscape or vice versa) the phone has to actually be removed, rotated manually, then reattached to the mount as demonstrated in the video. Since I can't pick up a phone myself this would obviously put me right back where I started.
So far Quadlock has the best potential of anything I've found. Potentially either their adhesive mount or sports armband mount might do the trick. The latter could be wrapped around my armrest with the mount facing upward.

These mounts do allow you to rotate your phone between both orientations while still attached. I spoke to customer service and there's still some question as to whether I'd physically be able to do that myself but I'm willing to try if I find no other solution. The other potential problem with these is it appears my iPhone 6+ would not be as flush to my armrest as the solution above. It looks like the phone would stick up in the air a little bit. The required case for these mounts is not yet shipping for the iPhone 6+ so I couldn't get one right now even if I wanted to.
Now at least all of the solutions above would make it possible for others to easily remove the iPhone 6+ from my wheelchair armrest, which is good because I imagine some of my friends and family will want to borrow it to take pictures and video with the camera. But if I can't rotate it myself that's a problem. I would hate to be stuck using my iPhone 6+ in portrait orientation, especially for watching videos and so forth.
So I was hoping somebody here would have a suggestion. This could also include a homemade solution. For example I was thinking there must be some kind of "disc" I could get that is rotatable (like a miniature turntable or Lazy Susan). I could conceivably attach something like that to my armrest then attach the phone to the disc, or at least the phone's case to the disc. But I can't think of what something like that might be called to do a proper Google search.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
