flat screen recycled use...

hello mac lovers,

i have a slightly not exactly mac related questions....

i have an extra flat screen monitor with a vga import that i want to use as a standalone dvd player...

i was thinking of this cable:

but realize that it is probably the reverse of what i need, dispite it's listed name.

is there an inexpensive dvd player that can play movies through vga into a computer monitor?

is there an inexpensive rca-vga converter?

any suggestions?
