New York, Baby!
As it doesn't seem to support my old apple Remote, I was thinking about different ways of changing the current track on my iPod Touch without having to take it out to look at the screen.

I then saw one of the new Sony Ericsson Walkman phones uses an accelerometer and you just flick the phone quite quickly to change to the next track.

How hard would it be to create a background application that would measure a quick flick changing the angle of the iPod 30 to 40 degrees on its axis and then change the track in iTunes?

I would personally LOVE this idea. I dunno if you mean to tilt the iPod or to flick like you do to change photos, but I definitely think being able to flick anywhere on the screen to change songs would own - no more having to take it out my pocket!
