Flickering green line at bottom of video in fullscreen - VLC media player

Hi,

On most of my videos (.avi) I periodically see a flickering or flashing green line at the bottom of the video picture when viewing in full screen in VLC media player (and others)

I am running:
Apple MacBook Air 13", 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor.
Mac OS X Lion, fully updated
VLC, fully updated.

I have searched on Google and seen possible solutions ranging from updating graphics card drivers to altering the de-interlace mode. These solutions did not work for me.

This issue (flickering line) also occurs on other media players on my current MacBook Air. So I have a feeling that it is not just a VLC issue, but may be an Air issue.

Please help?

Are the videos all h.264?

If it's the graphics card, something may show up in /var/log/kernel.log when it happens.
