I have also some problems with my external display (hp lp2475w)
When i connect my late 2008 mbp to this screen i'm seeing flickering white/green pixels all over the screen.
I've contacted Apple but they had no solution for this problem.
I have no problem when i connect my early 2008 mbp to the screen, so i think it's really a problem with the mini display port or the minidisplay port to dvi adapter.

Are there other people having the same problem? Maybe there is a solution for this?

My Unibody 2.4GHz MBP outputs to a 24" Princeton LCD via the Apple mini-display port to dvi adapter at 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz with a perfect display.
This is with both GPUs.

With the VGA adapter, I could not get 1920 x 1200 and had to run 1600 x 1080 which did strange things to the image quality.

This is not a solution to your problem, but maybe assurance that the MBP with the mini-display port to DVI adapter can output to 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz.
