Flickering on MBP retina came back

I have a mid 2012 rMBP 15", and it was fine for a while but then delivered the flickering issue. I reset the PRAM and the SMC (?) as well, and all was well for a while and then it came back. What causes this?

Might be a logic board issue. Mine started off with screen flickering, then the screen started to go black intermittently. Took it to the apple store & they are going to be replacing the logic board. BTW, I purchased mine around the same time as you.
