I just got my MacBook Pro today after 11 days of waiting. Everything works great for about an hour. Then about half an inch of white light flashes just above the dock. And it continues to do this every couple of minutes. Grrrrrrr.

Does anybody know if I could maybe trade in this one in for a new one at an apple store?

Curious, can you take a picture of what happens?
Maybe there's a connector problem or faulty panel, interesting. Contact your local Apple store or service centre - they will help you.

idk if I could catch it at the exact same time with a camera, but do any of you know of a program that records video of the screen? I could do that. The only thing I can really compare it to, is this video. Except mine doesn't make the static sound. But it does have those lines on the bottom of his screen going left to right. My screen is perfect except for those couple of lines that appear above the dock every once in awhile.

If it's a hardware issue, video screen capture software isn't going to show it. You'll need a camcorder. But since you asked, there are several good programs for recording screen video:

iShowU HD --- http://www.shinywhitebox.com
Screenium --- http://www.synium.de/products/screenium/index.html
Snapz Pro X --- http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/

Update

Went to the apple store today to exchange it, and they didn't let me...because I ordered online and customized it. The only thing custom about it was Microsoft office and mini display to dvi cable. Both of those products could have been bought at the store with no problem. So what makes this computer custom??? The system is flawed! I now have to wait for a box to send off my computer, and wait for another shipment from China...And I love how apple doesn't have an email to give them feedback. The salesperson wrote down a fake email for me to give apple feedback. My family has always used apple products. This may soon change. :apple::mad:

Wow, that is pretty ridiculous. They could have easily just reinstalled Office for you. I would call customer service.
