Flickering Screen, blackout; 4 year old iBook G4

I have a problem with my 4 year old iBook G4 screen, which flickers or blacks out depending on how far open the lid is. The problem has worsened over 6 weeks. I would appreciate information; What is the diagnosis? Can it be fixed? Cost? Options? Thank You. I am in Wash., DC, USA.

the ribbons that cpnnect your screen to your hardware. might have had enough..

well it might not be a ribbon, but its quite possible thats its something very similar to that.
