Can I get some opinions about these types of cases? Flip covers and wallet-style. I've thought about getting them before but after thinking more and more, I feel like the flipping would annoy me, and I usually pay with cash so a wallet case wouldn't help since they're more designed for cards/id's

There are a number of threads on here discussing both. I've used a flip case for years, and it works for me. I keep it in my handbag though, not a pocket. I've been using a side-flip wallet-style without card slots, on my 6+, and I can't get used to it. It does the job, but I find there are too many steps to flip it back so it is comfortable to use, and I'm not a heavy user. The case is plastic or PU, that I picked up at Best Buy to get me through. Can't wait for my new leather top-flip to arrive.

I've ordered the iMagnum flip case. It has to be a flip case for me as it has to slide into a Proclip car mount.
