I really wish codecs would work in Mac's native player Quicktime, but they don't half the time.

I have Flip4Mac installed so that I can watch WMV files. I received an email with a WMV. In Mail, I am able to watch the video embedded into the message. However, if I download the video, then Quicktime "doesn't recognise the format".

This makes little sense to me.

Is it not using the same codecs to read the file in both Mail and the Downloads folder?
