Fluctuating Battery % on 3gs....Annoying!

So the last week or 2 weeks my battery meter % will one second show something like 44% then itll jump to 54% and in a few mins back to 44%...i have totally drained the battery and replugged it in, i have "reset all settings" like THESPAZ has said to do, and none of it fixed the problem. My average battery usage is about 5-5.5 hours and on an average day standby of maybe 15 hours....should I go to apple to replace it (based on the fluctuating battery time)...also I used to be able to get near 7 hours of usage time with the same behavior I use now and now its about 5...

this happened to me after i plugged in my iphone to a usb connected to my pc. I would get huge fluctuations after I unplugged it
Ive found that if I plug it into the wall outlet I never get these battery hitches.

I plug my iphone up to the wall 99% of the time and at night...that doesn't matter for me
