FLV download through activity window

I bought my machine about 2 months ago and it had Leopard 10.5.1 on it. I was able to download flv by going to Window>activity and then double click ing the file. After I upgraded to 10.5.4 when I go and double click on the loading file all it does is open a browser window with a slew of symbols. Anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

Do the exact files that worked before work now? The websites you're downloading from my have changed their systems because it still works for me (YouTube at least).
