My gym has the TVs tuned to FM frequencies and I was wondering if there are any working FM receivers for the iPhone. I know I could buy a $10 FM radio, but I really don't want to have to carry another device and worry about more batteries and all that.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say that the Apple radio receiver that works for ipods does not work for the iphone even though it's the same connection - just so you don't try that. Don't know of another solution.

Griffin iTrip

Hi guys, just to let you know, some GOOD news.

The griffin itrip old and new work on the iphone.
When you plug it in it says, this device is not compatible with the iphone, would you like to go in to airplane mode.

Here you just say no, that it.
Now go to ipod and play music it WILL work.
It also charges at home and in the car with the normal ipod car charger.
It does NOTHING to the iphone it damage it.
It works great and I use mine everyday.

Cheers

umm why not just buy a $10 walkman

it will be cheaper, work better, and best of all you avoid potentially damaging your iPhone

this really is a non issue

That's a transmitter not receiver.

iPhone 3G FM receiver

I had same need - bought an fm receiver from an outfit in Hongkong thru eBay - it did not work with iPhone 3G 3.0 firmware or my second generation iPod - there was a 100% guarantee but return cost was equal to purchase price

FM Radio built in to iPhone

Whatever happened to the built in FM radio? http://9to5mac.com/iPhone-fm-app - read down past the app info and they talk about a chip that is lying dormant in iPhones and iPod Touches. This received a lot of publicity late in 2009, but I haven't heard much since. Besides the gym application mentioned above, this would be great at sporting events since the available internet radio apps have significant delays - up to two minutes.
