So I bought this cheapo FM transmitter off eBay and I haven't got a clue on how to use it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190387654039&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I turn the transmitter to an open frequency, I tune my radio to that frequency, I play a song on my iPhone 3G... and my radio is quiet. I only hear the music out of my iPhone's speakers, not the cars.

What did I do wrong?

Have you tried asking the seller if theres something else you have to do?

Did ya... plug it into the bottom of the iphone?!

it obviously isnt plugged in correctly -- thats why the audio is coming out of the phones internal speaker...

I understand what you guys are saying but I know it is properly connected because the transmitter lights up, however it still plays out of the phone.

EDIT: I am using an iPhone 3G.

Make sure it's plugged in and on the right frequency (on radio and on the transmitter).

FM Transmitter not working.

FM Transmitter Operating Instructions:
1. Connect Transmitter to iPhone and select the suitable frequency
Press on ‘+’/ ‘-’button to your desired frequency, then adjust your tune radio to the same frequency.Play music on iPhone.
2. Plug car charger into cigarette adapter and connect car charger to FM transmitter then it can be charged to iPhone and transmitter at the same time.
Note: If the FM signal is interrupted, please set the frequency of the FM transmitter and the FM tuner to the other frequency.

The best FM Frequency is 87.7, 87.9, or 88.1
