FM transmitter won't charge my phone after upgrading to 4.1

It used to work flawlessly on 4.0.1, it played and charged it just great. Now since upgrading to 4.1 it won't charge the phone anymore. I mean it does but it does so on and off every 2 seconds. Shows the charging symbol, then doesn't, then does, then doesn't, and it keeps repeating that.

Any way to fix this or am I boned?
