fn+Delete and MailBox problem

Hi,

I am new to Mac,

I have 2 main problems:
1. When I press fn+Delete to make a forward delete, the action deletes two letters (characters) instead of only one. why is it?
2. I connected my gmail account to Mac Mail app, and on the sent items list of Gmail account, it shows the 'From' (which is me) section , instead of the 'To' section (the one I sent it to). Why is it?
