I have most of my folders set to use pictures instead of colors/white. I just noticed that the color temperature and saturation appear much different when used as backgrounds, in contrast to how they look in when viewed Preview, Photoshop, Paintbrush etc. The way the pictures appear is consistant among all the programs used to open them. I thought the issue might be that no color profile was being applied to the images when used as folder backgrounds, but that doesn't appear to be the case. When I go into the display preferences and switch my color profile the background pictures change, but they still look somewhat off. To provide an example I use Classic Aqua Graphite as the background for my trash folder. When I open up the trash folder and then open Classic Aqua Graphite in preview and line them up side by side, the trash background is the color of dark blue faded denim, while the same image in preview looks graphite grey.

Any explanations would be greatly appreciated.
