I had an folder with all my ebooks on the dock and all of a sudden theres a question mark on it. Couldn't open it and when i tried to use the finder to look up the info, the folder had disappeared. Like an idiot I dragged the folder out of the dock and it disappeared in a puff of smoke. Can someone please help me recover over a hundred ebooks!!

Im new to the mac world so bear with me =)

Thanks,
Patty

Hey Patty. Welcome to MacRumors.

When you place a folder on the dock, it's simply a shortcut. To get the file back, you must find out where you originally put it. (Documents, downloads etc. etc.).

If none of that helped, then you may want to head on over to this link which demonstrates methods as to how you can recover lost files. http://www.tech-pro.net/how-to-recover-deleted-files.html

hope this helped.

Okay, what Operating system are you currently running, And how long ago was it deleted?

How did you delete it? Simply, drag it off the dock?

No problem, Good Luck.

Searching with Finder doesn't always yield all the results, it depends on what got indexed. You can try these free apps for an extensive search: EasyFind and Find Any File.
