Well firstly I know this is more of a windows problem but i thought that someone here might be able to help since most people use both systems and this problem started out from me/OS X.
Basically i have accidentally named some files/folders in OS X and left a blank character at the end by mistake which is no problem for OS X. I then copied them to windows over my network and this is when all the problems started, apparently windows does not like blank characters at the end of file names etc. I can still copy these files back to my mac over the network but on my p.c. it wont let me do anything with them, no rename, delete or move. I have also tried editing them from my mac.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience and found a solution, as it is quite easy to do by mistake i was hoping someone might be able to help.
My second question. Is it possible to scan every file name and folder and check for blank characters at the end to stop this happening in future either with spotlight or automater?
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Adam
