Hey all. Every time I restart my computer the folders in my Home and Applications folders revert back to a view that I do not want. They are scatterd and smaller than I normally like them to be. So I end up changing the settings and then when I restart again they go right back. It is as though I needed to rebuild the desktop like back in OS 9 or something. Anyone have a fix for this? I repair permissions, ran all cron scripts...and it still does it.

Second question: I remember a program called Memory Hog, it came out about 3 years ago. I have not been able to find a downloadable copy of it as the links in MacUpdate and VT are all dead. All this program did was allocate more and more memory to itself until it used up all availible memory. When i quit the program i noticed that it freed up more memory than there was free before. This was useful for me for when my computer had been on for days and i wanted a way to free up a bit more memory without having to restart my computer. If anyone has a copy of this, or something that does the same thing (on purpose ;) ) that would be great. If not, i will live. It's really the folder thing that is pissing me off.

10.3.8, on a 500Mhz iBook w/640MB. Also running my external FW drive as my startup disk.
