In a House Near the Sea
Hello on and all.

Now I have recently replaced my SR 2.2 MBP's HDD it was a 120gb now its a 320gb Seagate. I CarbonCopyCloned the harddrive onto the new one and put it in my MBP.

Now everything works but the main problem is that when in finder and clicking a folder in column view it takes absolutely ages for the contents of that folder to be visible.
Before I would just click on a folder and walla the contents would be viewable.

This is the same when deleting files and emptying trash it takes a lot longer.

I have done permissions repair to see if that would help.

Anyone have any ideas. Cheers

Haha so I figured it out and all is good.

Basically I logged in as the root user and found that this problem wasnt there for that user. This made me realise it was a problem with my user account after hours of transferring files between users. I narrowed the problem down to a corrupt com.apple.spotlight.plist file in /users/library/preferences/

If you have this problem try trashing that file to see if it cures the problem.

Good stuff.
