folders icons...

has anybody found a way to take the ugly way folders are displayed with mini icon grid and just replace it with a single image?

I'd like to know as well. Don't want to replace the whole folders system with Categories, just the icons. It would be cool to have the names and no image at all, but I prefer no app lables under other icons so I don't know how that would work.

I posted this exact same thread, and for now the only solution is categories+categories SB. I made the switch and am perfectly happy with it.

Do you know what repo those are available from? I checked Cydia but did not find it. I also searched Google and saw it used to be on repo.beyouriphone.com but I am unable to add that source to Cydia - maybe it was taken down. Thanks.

Both Categories and CategoriesSB are in the BigBoss repo which is a standard Cydia repo.

Any good suggestions for retina-optimized icons to use with Categories? Everything that comes with it or that I've found through Cydia isn't really set up for use with the iPhone 4, and I've yet to find a full HD theme I like. I downloaded SuaveHD and used a few of those just for the folders, but the icons are smaller than the standard ones and the whole effect is less than ideal.

No - I was trying to put a second "a" in it. Ha! It shows up now in Cydia from BigBoss when I search using the correct name. Sorry.

No. Categories does not yet support Retina icons. I found my own icons and adjusted them to Retina size and then used WinterBoard to replace them.

It's easy to do....let me know if you need help with the WinterBoard theme.

I didn't try......WinterBoard has been no problem on my iPhone 4 and it made this simple to do.
