I had Leopard installed and got Snow Leopard. I wanted to do a clean install and I did a manual backup to an external NTFS drive (I had NTFS-3G with MacFuse installed). Among other stuff, I backed up some music in folders that included some specific characters from my language.
I installed Snow Leopard and now all of a sudden these folders don't work. They're displayed as unknown files (although their names are normal with all the unusual characters intact), cannot be opened or renamed. The drive is perfectly fine, I tried using it on a Linux and Windows machine and both recognised it and played the problematic files without a glitch, so it must be OS X.
Any ideas?
