Not that this is anything new, but it just occurred to me, that were you to be so inclined, you could create subfolders (more 'categories icons') within existing categories icons, so that you could end up with for example: Games: Action, Puzzle, Casino, etc.; Apps: Productivity, etc. you get the point! :D
 
I had that app had everything oragnized like that BUT when I took something out of a folder then put it in another it was lost completly ( I made a thread about this!) Had to ssh to delete the app it was gone springbroad!

The reason it was gone is that Categories will write "hide application" instructions into a preference file called com.apple.springboard.plist which lives on your iphone in the directory /User/Library/Preferences.

All you have to do is delete this file (no worries it will regenerate upon respringing your phone,) and voila! All your icons are back.
