Hi all, I have just got a Intel 520 SSD and a 1 TB. I want to move my downloads folder only to my 1TB drive, but still have it link back up to the downloads shortcut under my username as well as in the finder sidebar. How would I go about doing this. As well contemplating moving my music to the 1TB as well.

You might consider leaving your downloads folder as it is, since you'd run into problems if you downloaded something when the external drive wasn't mounted. Instead, once things are downloaded, move them to the external drive. As for your music, if you're using iTunes, you might want to keep your favorite music on your internal drive, so it's available when you're mobile, and have the rest stored on the external. I find this arrangement works quite well.

I'm on my iPhone right now but will be home soon. I'll post a link that does a good job of explaining exactly how to do what you want to do. I linked my photo, video, music, download folders to the optibqg HDD.

Edit: Here ya go.
