No mention of Mac support yet... Patience patience. But these NVidia GT4XX look like they will be monsters at Folding.

Still waiting on bigadv to move to a3 core though...

Got an a3 unit but it says bigadv in the Wudget...

4 mins time frame, doesn't look like a bigadv...

Core 2.21 is also ready now.

Update: one a3 bigadv has been released, it is project 2684. I did not get it though and got assigned a 6012 which is a regular a3, never got one before...

Update 2: one crashed at 2%, the other one at 10%, then I got an a2 bigadv... Go figure.

Stanford doesn't seem to have solved the early crashing problem yet that 2.21 was supposed to fix.

hmm. interesting. well at least something is going on. hopefully soon they'll have something worked out

No, these are CPU clients.

The ATI vs Nvidia PPD difference is not going away anytime soon, something where the architecture of Nvidia cards better suited to Folding.

What we are waiting for however is a GPU client for Mac/Linux.

No idea of points yet, but my completion time went from 2 days 22 hours to 3 days 14 hours. Before I was getting 51k points per unit. Oh and it is using core 2.22 for these a3 bigadv.

Somehow though according to the table, it should yield the same 16.5k PPD. My machine is a 8 cores with no PPD hit? It looks like the one getting hit by 20-30% less PPD are 4 cores plus 4 virtual.

We will know for sure in two days.

Yup, 58.5k points with the bonus so more than the a2 units, very small PPD loss in the end, unlike the virtual cores... And this a3 unit survived a restart! Great update!

Some a3 servers are down, uploads are not working... Also the a3 now serves a 6701 unit, quite a slow one...

Core a3 2.22 is out, it is somewhat faster than 2.21. It doesn't seem to update by itself yet, so once a unit is finished, you need to manually delete the core to get the new one.

I am new... but i have heard quite a bit about seti@home. Can you explain a bit about why people are doing it?
