I think they are a bit of a novelty. I tried the Samsung in shop and thought this is the future but I now disagree. They are too big and clunky in real life I wouldn’t want to roll out a large screen on a train or bus. And at 2k a time I feel it’s a waste of money. Same with the curved edge iPhone 20. Samsung have tried all this and I’ve yet to see many people use them. People also like smaller phones and Apple ditched the mini. iPhone Air makes sense but again it really should be a new iPod instead due to the battery life.

Agree- 17 Air is the ticket for me as weight is my number one consideration.
Finally an iPhone in a long time that doesn't weigh a ton!

My stepson has a Galaxy Fold 7 and while folded, just a bit thicker than my 16 Pro; but opened up, it's a tablet requiring 2 hands.

This year it's the 17 Air plus UW3.

I just got an Oppo Find N5, it's the same thickness as my iPhone 16 Pro and almost the same width. That means while folded it handles about equally well, but when opened up it's got a bigger and better display than iPad Mini.
I'm not giving up my iPhone yet but your arguments make no sense.

I just saw an ad for a Pixel Fold during opening night NFL. I’ve wanted a folding iPhone for 2+ years now. I do everything on my phone or my desktop. Don’t love laptops. Never use my iPad. Doubling the screen real estate on my iPhone is where it’s at. Not for movies that don’t work at a square ratio but for web and email and other apps or side by side app multitasking.

Apple waiting another year for their fold while Samsung and Google continue in the space is both inexcusable and ridiculous. Why can’t Apple bring this to market already.
