I've looked around but haven't found a solution, or even a cause for this so I thought I'd ask here.
I have several font Library's setup in Font Book that contain fonts stored on our server, nothing is local. Whenever I restart and open Font Book, all of the fonts in each Library activate, sort of. Once Font Book is open applications like Adobe InDesign and Illustrator can take more than 5 min to open (this in on an 8 core MacPro). When an app finally opens all of the fonts, in every library show up. This includes fonts and even entire library's that show as off in Font Book.
So every time I restart, I have to open Font Book, wait for it to load, then go through each Library and if I had a font active before restarting I can Right Click on the library and select to disable it. If the Library was disabled before restart I have to activate one font in it, then Right Click and choose to disable the Library, this will actually deactivate the Library. I don't have automatic font activation on so that should not be the issue.
Except for this issue I'm happy with the way Font Book works. I am looking into a separate font manager, but would rather not have to buy one when there is a decent one as part of the OS.
