Apple has long been talking about how the iPad is capable of running professional applications. However, many Pro's, especially designers rely on custom fonts and therefore, this makes using an iPad for design, totally impossible. Therefore, wouldn't it be great, if Apple could introduce a method for third party font's to be installed on iOS devices. It wouldn't even need it's own app, just a section in settings, much like how Third Party Keyboards are done in iOS 8.

What do you think?

You can actually install fonts on iOS, however it is part of the management system and mostly designed for Enterprises, etc.

You bundle the Font into a .mobileconfig file, there are some apps that have been created to make this easier for example:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/anyfont/id821560738?mt=8

clumsy though. The OPs idea of installing them not unlike the keyboard thing is perhaps better. Although in both cases, the need to install and retail an app is a down in my book. It should just be a standalone download. It could still come from the App Store system and have to be vetted to make sure no one snuck in something nasty. Same with language packs, etc. I only speak/read 5 of the languages iOS supports but I have to have all of them on my system. No thanks. Let me get what I need when I feel the need for it. (I feel the same about the apps on the ATV)
