Font issues in 10.6.1 with Safari/Firefox

[ZMacintosh]

so far this is the only im experiencing with the font issue while using snow leopard.
i currently have zero excess apps minus iwork and ilife installed, no extra fonts were installed and this was a clean installation from a blank drive..(aka not an upgrade)
i tried under admin and other brand new user accounts to no avail.

here is the problem with fonts:
