Has anyone noticed the change in font and size of text on this site.

I had not updated since sierra and what a mistake this was.

Any assistance in settings ?

They seemed to have change the font settings for non-Retina displays and I agree that it looks bad, not just on Macrumors.

I found a thread that discusses the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/8wpk18/macos_mojave_nukes_subpixel_antialiasing_making/

There you can see different settings, I changed the following setting in Terminal and you have to log out and log back in to see the difference: defaults write -g CGFontRenderingFontSmoothingDisabled -bool NO

I would prefer to have the settings as in High Sierra but am not sure yet if that is possible.
