I made the switch to the Intel G5 from an older G5. The first thing I noticed is that the font size on the top bar is much smaller than on the previous machine. I've looked everywhere in the settings and can't make it larger.

The same goes for all the Office apps and Camino. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think you mean the monitor is bigger :D

But ... there are some things you can do.

1) Run at a lower resolution. Things might look uglier slightly, but your menu bar will be bigger.

2) If you install the Developer tools, there's a Quartz Debug application where you can set UI scaling. It's called "User Interface Resolution" and it's slightly buggy with some unupdated menu bar items, but for the most part works well.

Compare between normal size and 125% scaling

Or wait until Leopard in a few months when all the bugs are worked out. :D

Both are 20" G5s. BTW, how do I change the resolution? Thanks

To change resolution:

In the Apple Menu, click on System Preferences. There should be an item, "Display" that you can click on. When you click on it, there will be a list of supported display resolutions. Try them and see which you like.
