I am running the current dev beta of 15.1, and have just noticed that plugging in an external monitor is looking a lot better than it was! I work in AutoCAD, and the font smoothing issue was very obvious, but sometime recently Apple seems to have sorted it out.
Did I miss something? I don't recall reading anything about it, and given how much (justified) complaining there has been about it, I would have thought a fix would have generated a lot of interest.
