I recently bought MBA 11 (my first mac). One of the main reasons to go with Mac for me was mini Display port that allows driving 30" external monitor. I got my miniDP-> DualLinkDVI adapter yesterday and while it does work I was surprised to see that fonts on external mo monitor are not nearly as crisp as when I boot the same MBA to windows 7 using boot camp.
Just to clarify, I am using native resolution (2560x1600) with 60Hz refresh rate (the only one available on the list) and I connect using miniDP-to-DualLinkDVI adapter. Monitor is Dell 30" 2560x1600.
Google search brings many questions like this and one explanation I read is that Apple provides rendering that makes fonts to look on the screen more similar to what it would be on the print. But I don't care how it will look on the print and I just need crisp looking fonts on the monitor I am using 12 hours a day. Any suggestions? Thanks.
