Not trying to highjack thread, but I prefer posting in a already existing thread.

I've hooked a mac mini up to a full hd display at work, and the settings just seem wrong. The fonts just dont look right. Like the resolution is wrong or font smoothing is not enabled.

Ive played around with the settings on system preferences. And the settings are put on '1080p'. There is a font smoothing option, and that is turned on.

Ive never actually seen a mac on a external display before this (only built in and iMac(still built in)) But this particular display is still wrong after updating to Mountain Lion.

When googling, i see there are some terminal commands you can run, but they are from Snow Leopard, and im guessing this setting has been fixed since.

terminal command:
defaults -currentHost write -g AppleFontSmoothing -int 2
