Let me start by saying I just don't understand fonts!! They frustrate me!!

OK, I have Font Book. I'm trying to load some fonts to work on a piece in InDesign (created by someone else). Fonts in the folder are greyed out, so I can't add them. And the InDesign file still says they're missing, and I can't change them to what they should be...

HOWEVER...

...when I open the PDF of the piece in Illustrator, the fonts are fine! What is going on here? I have to create it in InDesign.

HELP!!!!!!!

Lots of elements in this equation.

Did they package the ID file with fonts?

What are your fonts? PostScript, opentype, truetype?

My might also try copying the fonts into your ID font folder.

Fonts could be corrupt.

I agree fonts can be tedious. Look into different font management files other than font book. Some are free like linotype font explorer

So any more info would be cool!
