Help!
I was browsing on Safari and usually i have my adium contact list on the desktop with all my buddies names and when i quit safari i noticed that all the names had disappeared but the status buttons and buddy icons were still there
so then i tried switching fonts on the list and some worked and others didnt. I opened the font book and saw that a majority of the fonts that i had are all missing for some reason. even normal ones such as times new roman and trebuchet ms are gone.
therefore, i did a spotlight search and font the files but when i opened them with font book, nothing happened and nothing was added

Fortunately it's an easy fix much of the time. Goto /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS and trash everything in there, then reboot. See if that does the trick before looking for broken fonts.
