So sad. Can’t see Foo Fighters going on at this point. There is no FF without Taylor. ?

Been watching a lot of FF live performances on YouTube and I really think they were the best live band of the last 20 years or so. They never phoned it in and were tight. From what I’ve read it was Taylor Hawkins who pushed the band to become a really good live band. Here’s a couple recent examples of really good live performances.

Sad story. Of course it is a matter of personal preference but while FF may be a great live band, their music did nothing for me. I have listened to a number of albums but for whatever reason, it did not appeal to me. They had many fans who feel differently so I am sorry for their loss.

I love their albums. They don't keep the same sound like other bands do. Sure you know it's a FF record but each one is different.

Oh yeah I have friends who think FF are just noise and hate Dave’s screaming. ?

Like I said I think they’re the best rock band of the past 20 years, certainly the best live band. I’ve seen a few contrarians say Hawkins wasn’t a great drummer (and wasn’t the best drummer in FF). I find that quite amusing considering some of the best drummers in history were buds with him and absolutely would place him up there as one of the greats. I believe he’s the only other drummer members of Rush have performed with.

Hawkins had big shoes to fill, from the front man. Don't forget he was already making his mark with Alanis Morissette.

I watched a BBC interview Taylor did with Steve Lamacq. The interview was great. Comments section unfortunately is kind of a dumpster fire.

For me as a fan all that matters is what Taylor did on record and on stage. I’ve found a few full length shows from the past 3-4 years on YouTube and he gave a thousand percent every show. There was no phoning it in - from any band member but especially Taylor who never left the stage (the other guys got a 10 minute break when he’d do a drum solo). Dave was clearly the front man and the ‘brains’ of the band but Taylor was the backbone and I’d argue a big reason the band was so tight on stage. I would be shocked if FF continued as a band. Maybe Dave will still work the some of the other guys on stuff but not as the FF.
