Fool OS into redownloading 10.4.9?

A friend's computer has all of her apps crashing... all of them. I'm thinking of redownloading and installing 10.4.9, and then updating to 10.4.10. How do I fool it into thinking it doesn't have 10.4.9? Or can I just reinstall it?

Only use a Combo updater not from the Software Updater. That way you make sure nothing is overlooked like wrecked code from earlier updates.

That takes you to VersionTracker, who are only hosting a link to whatever version is the latest with Apple - so it took me to the BootCamp 1.3 download page.. Thanks for that though..
